At the Fast Company Innovation Festival, former Stockton mayor Michael Tubbs and the Baby2Baby co-CEOs talked about the promise of guaranteed income for low-income families and the role of the private sector.
When Michael Tubbs, the former mayor of Stockton, California, was still in office, he created a pilot program that would provide $500 a month to residents with an income under $46,000. For 24 months starting in February 2019, 125 residents of Stockton received a monthly cash infusion.
