This keyboard teaser shot for the Vaio Pocket, Sony's upcoming mystery netbook, shows two things. It has a full size keyboard (like the Vaio TZ) and a track stick for mousing. As a reminder, the P has a 1600x768 resolution on an 8-inch screen. That sounds both awesome and ridiculously bad for your eyes at the same time. [Sony Style JP via Pocketables]

There's nothing wrong with Sony's Blu-ray remote for the PS3, but there's nothing especially right about it either. And as unwieldy as it may be, this generic 3-in-1 solution looks much better. The 3-in-1 Wireless Keyboard is first and foremost a Blu-ray remote, but it also appears to be a slider of sorts, packing full QWERTY and—if our eyes are telling us correctly—dual analog sticks. Especially for BD-Live content, the keyboard could make all of the text entry a lot more convenient than even Sony's own QWERTY option. And dual analogs? Really? The PSP doesn't even have that! We really wish there were more to the product's description, but if you're willing to make a gamble with $28.52 of your hard earned cash, let us know how it goes. [Superufo via Kotaku]

Sure, that Photoshopped image of the VAIO P we got on Sunday wasn't the real deal, but it looks like it might have some relation to reality -- Sony's got a teaser up for a "VAIO New Mobile" that includes some brief shots of a very swank-looking keyboard and tracking nub. We'll be honest -- we're totally stoked to check this thing out at CES. Counting the days! One more shot after the break.[Via Pocketables]Continue reading Sony teases the VAIO P's keyboard and tracking nubFiled under: LaptopsSony teases the VAIO P's keyboard and tracking nub originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 29 Dec 2008 22:44:00 EST. Loose lips sink ships, Sony -- not that you'd care. Apparently the company couldn't stand to wait any longer on that long netbook it had been teasing, so it's gone and leaked it out onto the sonystyle site. Apparently, the oddly shaped P-series device will sport an 8-inch, 1600 x 786 LED display, a 1.33GHz Intel CPU, a hard drive up to 60GB (or a 128GB SSD), and will run Vista Home Premium or Home Basic. There's not much else in the way of info, save for the fact that the laptop will be available in three colors (Crimson Red, Champagne Gold, and Black Silk). Not quite the heart-stopper we were hoping for, and knowing Sony, likely not real netbook-ily priced, but still an interesting entry to the ever-widening field of teensy computers. Now if only it ran Linux...Update: In case it wasn't clear, that's not an image of the P series, but a TT -- obviously a placeholder for now.[Via jkOnTheRun; Thanks to everyone who sent this in]Filed under: LaptopsSony P-series "netbook" unveiled, underwhelming originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 25 Dec 2008 10:33:00 EST.
